So, you got a bag of pretzels. Congratulations! Be prepared for a delicious treat, a fun snack or a great addition to your charcuterie board.
Did you know that your pretzels freeze and reheat, maintaining the flavor, freshness and texture? Just like the day they were baked. It’s true! In fact, when I bake pretzels, I almost always bake an extra dozen or two to keep in my freezer. I can pull them out to share with friends and family or just to have a quick snack on those days that I’m too busy to sit down and have a meal.
Well, how do I do that? Here is what I do:
- Freeze pretzels in a freezer bag.
- Preheat oven to 450 °F.
- Remove as many pretzels as you intend to server.
- Place pretzels on a sheet of foil.
- Brush or spritz lightly with water. This will ensure that your pretzels maintain moisture.
- Seal foil and heat in oven for 7-9 minutes or until warmed through.
- Do not overheat or pretzels will turn hard.
- For best results, do not microwave
